Transformation, extension and planning for a mosque.
This transformation project for the oldest mosque in the city is especially interesting as, without revolutionising the uses and customs associated with the construction of a mosque, it proposes a new form that lets the openness of its community, which has been an integral part of the neighbourhood since its creation, show through. The objective is to translate the modernity of the community both in behaviour and in the architectural form. The difficulty of working in a limited space and making it available to more than 700 faithful led to the proposal of subtle spatial solutions. One of the most interesting is the management of flows that take on meaning when they incite the faithful to prayer.
